In addition to safety features, both trims are equipped with Honda Sensing, which offers a variety of driver-assistive technologies, including:

Price and Value

The price increase for the 2026 Honda CR-V concerns some people, but both models still offer great value for what you get. Here are the MSRPs for the 2026models:

  • Sport Hybrid: $35,630
  • Sport-L Hybrid: $38,725

That’s a $3,000 difference between the two trim levels. The extra cost for the Sport-L Hybrid is mainly for the following features:

  • Leather-Trimmed Seats
  • 10-Way Power Adjustable Driver’s Seat with Two-Position Memory
  • Front Passenger’s Seat with 4-Way Power Adjustment
  • Power Tailgate with Programmable Height
  • 320-Watt Audio System
  • 10.2-in Digital Instrument Cluster
  • Parking Sensors
  • Low-Speed Braking Control
  • Power Windows with Auto Up/Down All Windows
  • Automatic-Dimming Rearview Mirror

In addition to the leather seats, power-adjustable features, and 10.2-inch instrument cluster, some other features on the Sport-L hybrid might seem minor upgrade.

But for some people—especially those who frequently drive in the city—features like parking sensors and Low-Speed Braking Control are a massive help; they’re incredibly useful when navigating tight city parking garages—something the base Sport trim leaves entirely up to your eyes.

Should You Buy the CR-V Sport Hybrid or Sport-L?

As I mentioned earlier, the $3,000 price difference is mainly for the leather seats, power-adjustable features, a louder audio system, and a more modern speedometer display. Beyond that, there aren’t any truly standout features.

So, would you pay $3,000 for those features?

Personally, I’d find it a bit steep—even though leather-trimmed seats are my favorite—but I think $3,000 is pretty pricey.

The 2026 model is the most fully-equipped CR-V ever; it comes with an abundance of standard features, such as wireless Apple CarPlay and a 9-inch touchscreen across all models.

That means the Sport Hybrid, which is $3,000 cheaper, still offers a very comprehensive feature set—even by 2026 standards.

If I had to choose, I’d go with the Sport Hybrid and save $3,000.

However, things might be different if you have pets or children. $3,000 might seem like a lot to spend on an upgrade to leather seats. However, keep in mind that the leather interior in the Sport-L is much easier to clean, which could save you money on detailing in the long run

  1. Your comparison was very helpful to us. We decided the features in the Sport-L were not worth the extra $3,000 to us.

  2. This was very helpful. Three of the features I want are leather seats, power adjust driver’s seat, and power tailgate. Now I know it’s the Sport L for me. Cheers.
