Why The Gas Tank Size Is Misleading
Many Honda CR-V users, especially those with models from 2016 to 2024, like myself, have been puzzled about the gas tank size.
I wondered why I could only fill about 11-12 gallons when my CR-V’s tank should hold up to 14 gallons. I thought something was wrong with my car.
After some digging and talking to a mechanic at a Honda service center, I got the answer.
When the low fuel indicator comes on, it doesn’t mean you’re totally out of gas. In reality, there are still about 2.1 gallons (8.0 liters) left in the tank when the light pops up. That means you can still drive another 60-90 miles. However, you should go to the gas station immediately.
The funny thing is, this info is actually in the owner’s manual. So, I learned the importance of reading the manual. LOL.

Subsequently a Firestone dealership and another Honda dealership confirmed that the substituted tires had already been used over for years of tire wear. The tires are rated for 5 years and 75,000 miles. At 18,000 miles, after being criminally swapped, we only have 5/32 tire tread left. At this point, they are now bald and slipping dangerously on the road. My front seat is causing back and spine pain because the seat has a deep hole in the bottom of the seat requiring me to place a gigantic pillow there to even sit on. Richard Mongiove, the service writer has never nor have his superiors every responded to my telephone and email protestation. My wife demand s a new replacement car.
